We require students to carry a SCUBA Diving Accident Medical Insurance


Divers Alert Network - DAN - dive accident insurance is an affordable way for divers to obtain insurance against the costs of dive injuries that are often left uncovered by typical health insurance.

• Covers diving accidents & injuries, and some plans also cover nondiving and named water sports accidents & injuries
• Pays 100% of eligible accident medical expenses up to US$500,000
• Includes coverage for divers in the U.S. and Canada

Step 1: Join DAN membership

DAN Membership is required before dive accident insurance can be purchased. Dive accident insurance cannot be purchased alone.
This provides you the the emergency evacuation services.
We recommend the Enhanced Membership over the Regular Membership due to the additional services and increased limits provided while traveling outside the USA. Discount options are available for family membership.

Step 2: Choose Dive Accident Insurance

We highly recommend the Guardian level if available in your state.
The Preferred level is next lower choice (may not cover Named Water Sports Accidents)

Optional - Travel Insurance

We are going to express this in stark language.
If after February 1, 2025, you cancel or decide your child cannot attend, you will lose your initial and secondary deposit payment.
If after April 1, 2025, you cancel or decide your child can not attend, you will lose their entire tuition payment.
Odyssey Expeditions will hold firm to this cancellation policy.
